Dennis B. Warner
Dennis B. Warner is a Board Member of Friends of Tanzania with a term ending in 2016. He has served on the Governance, Outreach and Projects Committees.
Currently an independent engineering consultant, Dennis was Senior Technical Advisor for water supply, sanitation and water resources development with Catholic Relief Services (CRS), a humanitarian organization with projects in more than 100 countries. He has over forty years' experience in international development, working on problems of water supply, sanitation, environmental health and emergency relief assistance.
He studied history and engineering at the University of Illinois, where he earned BA, BSc and MSc degrees, and at Stanford University, where he obtained a PhD in civil engineering. Dennis has lived in Tanzania, Uganda, Switzerland and France and has held positions with the Peace Corps, University of Dar es Salaam, Duke University, World Health Organization, World Bank, USAID and several engineering consulting firms.
He is a board member of several humanitarian NGOs and in 2000 served as representative of Pax Christi International to the United Nations in Geneva. In 2010, he received the University of Illinois Alumni Humanitarian Award.
