Sue was FOT President in 2016 and continues for one more year as the Immediate Past President, assisting the two new Co-Presidents. She previously served as the Communications Chair and has coordinated the semi-annual newsletter. She also handled incoming correspondence to FOT from 2011-2016.

Sue first spent time in East Africa as a teacher in 1987-88 through the non-profit WorldTeach. In 2007-09 she lived in Dar es Salaam as wife of the U.S. Ambassador. Among the high-lights of her days in Tanzania were welcoming President George W. and Mrs. Laura Bush for their historic 4-day visit, and later working with the First Lady of Tanzania, Mama Salma Kikwete, on an anti-stigma awareness campaign for orphans and vulnerable children.

Sue is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a Bachelor of Business Administration. While Wisconsin will always be home, Sue has happily resided in beautiful Virginia for the past 6 years.
