Ms. Margaret Abraham Msangi was born in Kilimanjaro and received her basic education in various parts of Tanzania. She worked as an administrative assistant with United Nations Angola Verification Mission (UNAVEM) in Luanda, Angola and thereafter as Project Coordinator with SOS Children's Villages Tanzania, a center for needy children based in Arusha, where she oversaw the children admission process and their well-being, personnel matters, facilitated final stages of village and school construction, and other logistics. In December, 2003 she moved to the USA for further studies.
Margaret graduated with a Master's in Public Health (MPH-Community Health) from Georgia Southern University, and has a BS in human services from Kennesaw State University, Georgia. She held a position of "Disability Determination Analyst" with Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services in Fairfax, Virginia. She is passionate about community and environmental health issues as well as giving back to communities through volunteering and attending civic activities. Margaret is married to Mr. Rogatius Shao, Charge' d'Affaires -Tanzania High Commission, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She enjoys reading, travelling, and keeping abreast with social economic news from Tanzania and world at large.
While in Tanzania, Margaret supports local NGOs as a consultant and gets in touch with various projects supported by FOT.
