Welcome to Friends of Tanzania/Marafiki wa Tanzania!

Friends of Tanzania provides a platform and network for people who love and wish to remain connected to Tanzania and with each other. FOT allows members to continue promoting Village Community Development efforts in appropriate, inclusive and effective ways.

While many of our members were Peace Corps Volunteers in Tanzania, our membership also includes others who have spent considerable time in the country, are from East Africa, or have other meaningful connections. We all share an affection for Tanzania, its people and its culture, and a desire to assist in promoting development in the country.

Karibuni! We hope you enjoy learning more about what FOT does and how you can support and participate in our work and activities.

FOT provides linkages between Tanzanians and Americans, as well as others who have worked in Tanzania. We encourage networking among our members and our partners, return trips to Tanzania, and outreach to the Tanzanian Embassy in Washington, DC.

Stay Updated

FOT provides a source of news about Tanzania and the efforts and opportunities to assist in improving the lives of its people. As an affiliate of the National Peace Corps Association, we also serve as a resource to RPCVs and to the broader Peace Corps community.

Our projects and grants program funds small-scale, community-based projects in Tanzania in the sectors of education, health, agriculture, environment, small business, etc. These projects are designed to fit their locations and reflect the current needs on the ground.
