The details...

Planning is under way!

A committee of Friends of Tanzania Board members, chaired by Clay Batko, is meeting bi-weekly to plan events deserving of the 30th Anniversary of Friends of Tanzania. The goal of FOT's virtual events will be to celebrate our love and appreciation for Tanzania, 30 years of FOT, and 60 years of the U.S. Peace Corps!

FOT celebrations are being coordinated with those to be held by the National Peace Corps Association honoring the 60th Anniversary of the Peace Corps.

You won’t want to miss this celebration - AND you can be a part of the planning!

The Current Celebration Schedule...

Friends of Tanzania

Saturday, September 18, 2021 - the "main" event:
A "Founders" panel; a projects' update; input from notable Tanzanians; input from country directors or other Peace Corps Tanzania staff; "breakout rooms" to engage in directed discussions; and Tanzanian music!

In the weeks leading up to September 18:
Online activities such as Zoom events for RPCVs and others by decade of service; a FOT-focused legacy giving/estate planning session; a children's event; and a new FOT logo challenge to explore ideas for a new organizational logo.

After the September 18 event:
An educational speakers series, including participation by African scholars; and a sustainable development speakers series.

Virtual events and activities will be open to anyone regardless of organizational affiliation, i.e., Peace Corps, TEA, Tanzania diaspora, American Friends, mission service, diplomatic corps, or just visitors.

Peace Corps
